Terms for the early test
Early-test version, last changed 7 October 2026. Written in plain language and not yet reviewed by a lawyer; fuller terms will replace this before the service opens widely.
What the service is, and is not
- Groupenda is a tool for organizing a group: members, events, announcements and, if you choose, dues. If you connect your group's bank account, it is for viewing only and shows who has paid.
- It is not a bank or an accounting service. Payments between your members and your group happen outside Groupenda.
- It is not accounting, tax, legal or financial advice.
You are in charge of your group's records
- Matching a payment to a member is automatic and can be wrong. A payment marked "Check this" is counted for now but needs your confirmation, and one marked "Needs you" is not counted until you place it. Please check the results against your bank's own statements.
- You confirm that you are allowed to connect the bank account you connect, and to share the member details you enter.
- What you and your members post (announcements, messages on a link-up) must be lawful and civil. Organizers can remove messages, and we may remove content or suspend an account that is being misused.
- A link-up is a temporary shared page. It is deleted a few days after the event, so keep anything you need.
- Keep your password, authenticator app and recovery codes private. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
- Do not use the service for anything unlawful, or to try to get into other people's accounts or data.
Groups must be lawful, and the organizer answers for theirs
- A group on Groupenda must be for a lawful purpose where the organizer and the members are. The organizer says so when the group is made, and is responsible for keeping it that way: for what the group does, what it collects, what it posts, and for having the right to share the member details they enter.
- Not allowed: anything unlawful; fraud, scams or schemes to take people's money; illegal gambling; harassment, threats or hate; impersonating a person or organization; spam; anything that exploits or endangers children. Members who feel unsafe or deceived can report the group from their page.
- We do not read private groups or review them in advance. We act on reports and on lawful requests from authorities. A person reads each report and decides. We may remove content, take a group out of the directory, pause a group (its organizer is told why, can still see and download their records, and can write to us to answer), close an account, and give authorities what the law requires.
- Organizers can delete any comment, mute any member, and turn comments and messages off. Please use those before it gets to us.
This is a test
- The service is provided as is, while we test it. It can be wrong, change, or be unavailable, and bank connections sometimes need you to sign in again.
- Bank data comes through Plaid and is also subject to Plaid's terms and privacy policy.
- Please keep your own records of anything important until the service is proven.
Ending
You can stop at any time: disconnect your bank, download your data, and delete your account on the Account page (see the privacy page for exactly what that removes). We may suspend an account that is being misused.
